Promesa Salud Cancer Screening ProgramWhat is Promesa Salud?Promesa Salud is a Planned Parenthood Program, funded through the Texas Cancer Council , the Department of State Health Services, and the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO), designed to enhance early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, utilizing links to treatment through case management, to reduce the impact of breast cancer in our community. What services does Promesa Salud Provide?Promesa Salud provides free breast screening mammograms and additional diagnostic services, such as diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, and surgical consultations when necessary, to women who meet eligibility requirements. Why are these services important?All women are at risk of developing breast cancer at some point in their lives. The best defense against breast cancer is early detection. Monthly self-breast exams, yearly clinical breast exams and screening mammograms can be lifesaving tools. Who is eligible to receive Promesa Salud services? Women must meet all of the following requirements:
How to become a patient:Women who are currently patients at any of the clinics mentioned above may ask their health care provider to be screened for Promesa Salud eligibility.
